“We have been using Toni at Sofa Decor for over 10 years now, and we are very pleased with all the work she has done.”

What we do

An antique settee reupholstered in a coral and cream floral.

Chairs and sofas

Down to the frame and back up. Antiques, mid-century pieces, big family sectionals.

A custom striped box cushion with orange piping, made to fit a corner.

Cushions and foam

New foam, new covers, or a whole set of window and bench cushions cut to fit.

A modern chair with a navy leather seat and a woven leather back.

Dining chairs and benches

Sets of six or eight, done together so they match. Vinyl and leather too.

A blue chaise longue reupholstered in a soft woven fabric.

Slipcovers and headboards

Fitted covers for pieces you would rather not have permanently changed, and padded headboards.

How a job goes

  1. 1

    Bring the piece in

Or call and describe it. Photos help. We will tell you honestly if it is not worth doing.

  2. 2

We show you fabric, and what each one costs

Usually several options at different budgets, so you can pick the one that suits yours. The estimate comes before any work starts.

  3. 3

You get it back in two to three weeks

Longer for a big job, and we say so up front. If it finishes early we call you.

Pricing

What a job costs comes down to the piece and the fabric you choose. Call us or bring it by, and we’ll give you a clear estimate before we start.

What our customers say

“One of my most prized possessions is a 60yr old mid-century modern lounge chair and ottoman that I inherited from my grandmother. When it came time to reupholster the chair, my wife and I knew we would only entrust it to someone who we were sure would treat it with love and care.”

Matthew L.

“I brought my grandpa’s chair that he upholstered 30 years ago to the sofa decor. They did an amazing job updating his chair and keeping his work and memory alive for me.”

Cynthia B.

“We dropped off the piece along with the leather, and 2 weeks later it looks brand new again. Not bad for something that’s over 100 years old.”

Al S.

“Toni and her team are absolutely wonderful. Very professional with superb workmanship. They reupholstered our couch and even after 10 years it is like brand new.”

Marie C.

“The slipcover turned out really well! I could not be more pleased. Looks like a brand new chair with upholstery (doesn’t even look like a cover!)”

Stephanie S.

“Excellent craftsmanship on our sofa reupholstery. Tonie delivered on time, labor price reasonable. I honestly did not shop around because I felt confident that the job will be done properly when I met her.”

About us

Sofa Decor is a family run upholstery shop on Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock, next door to Casa Bianca. Tonie runs it, and she is usually the one who will talk you through your fabric.

Most of what comes through our door is something somebody could not bring themselves to get rid of. A grandmother’s rocking chair, a set of dining chairs that have been in the family longer than the table, a sofa that fits one particular corner and always has. We take it apart, rebuild what needs rebuilding, and give it back to you.

Questions we get

How long does a job take?

Most pieces come back in two to three weeks. Bigger jobs take longer and we will tell you that when we quote you.

Do I buy the fabric, or do you?

Either way works. We will show you options at a few different budgets, and if you would rather bring your own fabric we can work with that.

Is it worth reupholstering, or should I just buy new?

Depends on the piece. Old frames are usually built better than new ones, which is why they are worth saving. If yours is not worth the work, we will say so.

Can you match a set?

Yes. Sets of six or eight dining chairs are a normal week here, and doing them together is how they end up matching.

Where do I park?

There is street parking along Colorado Blvd right outside.
